- What age do we start the classes?
You can join the classes at any age between birth and 2 years although the earlier you start the more benefit and fun you will both have.
- What exactly do you do in the classes?
We Play! Each class consists of different play activities for you and your child to do together-such as playing instruments, singing, dancing, signing and much more. Classes are age specific.
- Do we have to join at the beginning of a 6 week course?
Yes you do. Once you have attended your free trial class you can then sign up for the next available course.
- Can I bring my older/younger child along as well?
It is really only one adult per child as you work closely together. However it is possible for you to bring a young baby as they can sit at the back of the class.
- Can dad come along with our child?
Yes. Any family member can attend including grandparents.
- Can my childminder attend with my child?
Yes, if you are happy for her to do that and she has no other children with her.
- What do I need to bring with me?
You may need to bring a drink/snack plus your usual baby accessories. All equipment is supplied.
- Is it possible to have a trial class first before I sign up to the 6 week course?
Yes, the first class is a free trial class with no obligation. You will attend one of the special trial sessions then sign up for the next full course.
- How many courses do we have to do for each age group?
You can do as many as you wish. Some moms carry on from one course to the next and work their way through the age groups. Others do just one or two courses for each age group. Again, the more you do the more you will both benefit.
- How often do we repeat the games at home?
You can do them as much or as little as you like. Get as many people as you can involved-such as grandparents, as the more people who can play them the more benefit your child will get.
- What if I cannot remember the games or songs?
Most of the songs are familiar nursery rhymes but you will be given a song sheet to help you remember them at home.
- I have twins, does that mean I have to pay for two places?
Not necessarily. While they are very young you can bring both but only play with one in class while the other sits at the back. You will only pay for one but can then do the games with both at home. Alternatively you can either bring another adult with you and have both children join in, in which case you would have to pay for two places or just bring one (if you have someone to look after the other) and do the games with both at home.
- What is the Parental Knowledge?
Each week we talk about a different topic of development-areas such as Emotional Development, Language, Walking, Brain Development etc. You learn how your child devlops in these areas and how you can help and support that development so you both benefit. You then get this information as a handout so you can refer to it later and share it with dad.
