 Your first Developmental Play class is a free taster class (check with yor local teacher for details) Simply come along meet your class teacher, chat to other moms and join in with your baby. There is no obligation to continue to do the full course but we are sure you will want to once you see how much fun we have.What exactly happens? Well, we all sit in a circle on mats on the floor-this allows your child to see and observe the other babies. Awareness of peer group during activities assists your child’s learning as they learn by observation and imitation.First is the ‘Parental Knowledge’ where we talk about one of sixteen different topics of child development (see list below). This just takes a few minutes and then the fun begins:We start with the ‘Hallo Song’ which signals the beginning of class and which your baby will soon respond to as he realises what is coming next. After this we do some dancing-don’t worry nothing too energetic but just great fun.All this is followed by 40 minutes of structured, fast paced and fun activities that work every aspect of your babies’ development. Things such as Singing, Finger games, Music, Signing, Nursery Rhymes and much much more.Finally we have Bubbles, Parachute and the ‘Goodbye Song’ As well as being great fun the bubbles support such things as development of depth perception and small muscle coordination while the parachute offers a full multi sensory experience for all the senses.Each class also has a 15 minute ‘Social Time’ either at the beginning or end of your class. This gives you chance to chat to the other moms, talk to your teacher about any queries and have a tea or coffee while your baby plays freely.While the classes are structured they are not strict and you are able to sit out at any point such as if you need to feed or your baby is unsettled. You can still watch what we do and continue the fun at home.
